Everything in PostVito hangs off a client. Before you can generate a pack or publish anything, you add the brand you’re working for. Onboarding one takes about five minutes.
Add the client
Go to Clients → Add client and type the business name. Add a town or city if the name is a common one, then click Search.
PostVito looks the business up and shows you the matches rather than guessing — plenty of businesses share a name. Pick the right one from the list and PostVito reads that listing and the website attached to it, drafts the brand profile, pulls the logo and derives a brand colour from it. All of that happens in the form, before you save, so you can correct it on the spot.
Only the name is required. If the search doesn’t find them — new businesses and pure-online brands often aren’t listed — skip it and fill the profile in by hand. Nothing is locked either way; every field stays editable afterwards.
Review what was drafted
Enrichment is a first pass, not gospel. Read these before you move on:
- What they do and Target audience — who they serve and what they sell.
- Tone of voice — read it aloud. Does it sound like the client, or like a generic “friendly and professional”? Tighten it. This is the single biggest lever on caption quality.
- Content pillars — the recurring themes generation writes around. This is what decides what the content is about.
- Logo and brand colour — check it pulled the right mark, not a partner badge or a favicon, and that the colour is theirs rather than a stock-photo accent.
There’s more you can fill in — Services / offers, Areas served, Local-search keywords, Preferred CTAs and Words to avoid. See How client brand kits work for what each one drives.
Connect their channels
On the client page, open Channels and connect the platforms you’ll post to: Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest and Google Business.
The key thing: you’re connecting the client’s accounts, not yours. Make sure you’re logged into their profiles when you authorise, or ask them to complete the sign-in step on a screen-share. Bluesky doesn’t use an OAuth redirect at all — it takes the client’s handle and an app password on its own form further down the Channels tab.
A client needs at least one connected channel before you can generate a pack, and packs are only written for the channels a client has actually connected — so connect everything you plan to use first. See Connecting a client’s channels for the platform-by-platform detail.
Note: For editors and viewers on your team, a client only appears once they’ve been given access. Open the client, switch to the Brand profile tab, and add them under Team access at the bottom — only owners and admins can change those assignments. Owners and admins see every client automatically.
Once the profile reads right and at least one channel is connected, the client is ready — generate their first content pack.
